The Big Day

March 6, 2009 is a very fateful day for student batch BDH32 because for more than a month of preparation and planning for the inauguration of the newspaper that is written by all the 6 groups of students from BDH32. Finally on that fatefully day everything is like a dream come true. An exhibition is being held at Taylor's College in the annexe to inaugurate the newspaper.

The newspaper was inagurated by the Course leader of BDH, Miss Siti, Executive Chef of Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and Chef Richmond Lim accompanied by Chef Bhatiyar on that very fateful day. ====================================================================

It all started by the welcoming speech by the emcee of that day Mr. Gene Wong and Miss Joey Teoh. Both of them are from BDH 32 Group 4. The first agenda of the day was the openning speech by the BDH course leader Miss Siti. After the speech by Miss Siti, the newspaper was inaugurated by Miss Siti, Chef Richmond and Chef Bhatiyar. After that, an inaugural speech was given by the guest of honor that day, Chef Richmond Lim.

After the inaugural speech lead by Chef Richmond Lim, the emcee took over the stage again to set the mood of the crowds. The next agenda of the day was 'The Making of The Newspaper' short movie with consists of the scraps an scarps of photos and video of behind the scenes during the newspaper making process. When the movie ends, all the editors of the 6 groups were invited to give a speech about their thoughts of the newspaper and then Chef Richmond Lim together with Chef Bhatiyar, Mr. Neethiah the Program Director of TCHT, Miss Siti and Chef Souji were invited to the stage to have a group photo with the editors.

Next was the second highlight of that day's event," A Long Journey On Becoming A Chef", a professional talk by the Executive Chef of Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Chef Richmond Lim. Chef Richmond Lim give a talk about the criteria to be a chef, what is the qualities that should be in a chef, self experience and some advice for the students who aims to be a chef in the future. The talk was superb, even seniors from Bachelor of Hospitality comes to the auditorium to listem to the talk. Everyone was amused by the Chef's professional talk.

The chef gave a lot of very useful tips, very interesting experience and a very humours speech that makes everyone from the crowd laughing non stop.


The day end with the closing speech by Mr. Neethiah.
